Guardian Consent

Before a child can have their own PlayerKit sign-in, a parent or guardian has to give explicit, recorded consent. This is enforced in the product itself, not just in policy — there's no way around it.

Before you start: you'll need to be an active guardian connected to the child, with permission to manage their sign-in. Most primary guardians have this by default — see Link a Player to Your Account if you haven't connected to your child yet.

WHY IT'S REQUIRED

Why consent is required

A club can put a player's name on its roster to run a season — on its own, that gives a child no account and no way to sign in. A child gets account access only after a linked parent or guardian signs an explicit consent for that specific child.

The account this unlocks is supervised: your child never holds a password of their own. Instead, you generate a one-time QR code from your account each time they need to sign in, and you keep full oversight.

STEP-BY-STEP

Giving consent

Consent is step 1 of the same flow you use to generate your child's first sign-in — you don't do it separately in advance.

Step 1

From your account, start generating a login for your child. You'll land on “Authorize [child's name]'s account” — step 1 of 2.

Step 2

Read the account-access consent document and the electronic-records disclosure shown on the page.

Step 3

Type your full legal name — this is your electronic signature.

Step 4

Check both boxes: “I authorize this supervised account for my child” and “I agree to sign electronically and have read the electronic-records disclosure.”

Step 5

Click Sign & continue. Your consent is recorded immediately, and you'll move on to generating the actual sign-in QR code.

SCOPE

What your child can — and can't — do

Once signed in, your child can view their own information: their teams, their equipment, their measurements and appointments, and their jersey.

A supervised account can never sign waivers, make payments, authorize equipment checkout, or agree to anything else the law reserves to a parent or guardian. Those decisions stay with you, always.

WHAT'S KEPT ON FILE

Who can give it, and what's recorded

Any guardian actively connected to the child with permission to manage their sign-in can give consent — not just one designated parent. Whichever guardian signs, the record shows your typed name, the date and time, and the internet address you signed from. That's it.

PlayerKit does not collect or store your child's date of birth. Consenting doesn't require providing it, and nothing in this flow asks for it.

CHANGING YOUR MIND

Withdrawing consent

Step 1

From your account, go to Account access consent for your child.

Step 2

Click Withdraw & close access.

Step 3

Access closes immediately — your child is signed out on every device, and no new sign-in can be created until you consent again.

You can consent again at any time afterward — it opens a fresh sign-in for your child. Whatever QR code existed before stays permanently dead; it never comes back.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Troubleshooting

I don't see the option to manage this child's account access.

You need the specific permission to manage sign-ins on your guardian connection to this child. If another guardian connected first, ask them to grant it to you, or check with your club if you're not sure who currently has it.

I withdrew consent by mistake.

No harm done — consent again from the same place, and a new sign-in can be generated right away.

Does this collect my child's birthdate?

No. PlayerKit never asks for or stores it, at any point in this flow or anywhere else.
