Signing In on the App

Already have a playerkit account? Here's how to sign into it from the mobile app — the default passwordless code, the password fallback, and what happens if two-step verification is turned on.

Before you start: just the email address on your account. No password required — the app's default sign-in door only needs your email.

STEP BY STEP

Signing in

1

Open playerkit and enter your email. The app opens straight to the passwordless door — type the email address on your account and tap to get a code.

2

Enter the 6-digit code from your email. It arrives within a few minutes and only works in this app. This is the easiest fix for most sign-in trouble — it needs no password, and the same code creates your account automatically if you don't have one yet.

3

Prefer a password? Tap Use password instead beneath the email field. If it doesn't match, playerkit shows one general message and doesn't say which of the two was wrong — that's deliberate, not the app being unhelpful.

4

Sometimes you'll also see Continue with Apple or Continue with Google above the code field. If you see one, it works — tap it. If you don't, that's expected too: it only shows when your phone and account both support it, and the emailed code always works either way.

If two-step verification is turned on for your account, you'll be asked for a second code after either door — from your authenticator app, with a Remember this phone option so you won't be asked again on this device for a while.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Troubleshooting

I signed in with Apple or Google before, but it says an account with this email already exists.

playerkit never merges these automatically. Sign in with the emailed code instead, then connect Apple or Google to your account under Sign-in & security in Settings on the website.

My password isn't working, or I've forgotten it.

Try the emailed code first — it's usually faster and needs no password at all. If you do need to reset your password, that happens on the website, not in the app: see Resetting Your PlayerKit Password under Related below.

I don't see "Continue with Apple" or "Continue with Google" on the sign-in screen.

That's expected on plenty of phones and accounts — playerkit only shows those options when both your phone and your account support them. Use the emailed code instead; it always works.

I need to change my password or turn on two-step verification.

Both of those are managed on the website, not in the app. See Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication under Related below.
